We invite you to gather with us as we explore the beginning of Jesus’ ministry. Join with others as you feel and able and share this time with us. As this service is made up of many small videos, allow some time for the page to load as we come to worship together.
A Service of Worship
Sunday, June 28, 2020
Fourth Sunday after Pentecost
Greeting
Prelude
If you are gathered with others, we invite you to use this Call to Worship. Nominate a leader, who will read the words in regular print, and everyone else gathered will read the words in bold.
Call to Worship
Adapted from enfleshed’s Liturgies That Matter by Jo Schonewolf
The presence of God welcomes us as we are.
To all who seek love, God extends God’s reach.
We bring God our questions and our uncertainties.
We come when we are hurting and afraid.
The weary and the grieving will not be turned away.
Righteous anger is received with care.
In God’s embrace, we come to lay our truths bare.
In honesty, with openness, we meet God and one another.
Opening Hymn
Opening Prayer
From Vanderbilt Divinity Library’s Revised Common Lectionary Prayers
Faithful God,
your love stands firm from generation to generation,
your mercy is always abundant.
Give us open and understanding hearts,
that having heard your word,
we may seek Christ's presence in all whom we meet. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
